I have been the Medical Director at HAART Oakland since 2009.My medical training began in 1978 at the State University School of Medicine in Buffalo. I completed my internship at Baylor Affiliated Hospitals in Houston. My specialty residency training was in Emergency Medicine at Emory University in Atlanta. I am currently Board Certified in Emergency Medicine and have practiced Emergency Medicine for 28 years. From my years of medical practice, I have learned that substance use disorders are complex and require a comprehensive approach. I believe that all those suffering from substance use disorders should be treated with care, dignity and respect. These are also guiding principles of HAART and that is why I am proud to participate in the excellent care provided at HAART Oakland.
